Create a vivid and distinctive blue transformation with KPMF® K75513 Matt Tempest Blue Cast VWS IV. Its saturated cool-blue colour, blue metallic character and controlled matt surface deliver an energetic appearance for complete vehicle wraps, contrasting panels and coordinated accents.
KPMF officially identifies this product as K75513 Matt Tempest Blue Cast VWS IV. It is listed as a 100 µm double-cast film with a blue matt metallic effect. No RAL or Pantone reference is currently listed. Colour depth, metallic movement and matt sheen vary with lighting, viewing angle, panel shape and film direction.
KPMF K75513 Matt Tempest Blue combines a vivid cool-blue foundation with subtle metallic depth. Direct illumination can reveal a brighter, more energetic blue appearance, while shaded conditions can produce a deeper ocean-blue or storm-blue character.
The matt metallic finish adds dimensional movement without producing the sharp reflections associated with gloss blue vinyl. Its controlled low-reflection surface creates a smooth, modern appearance while allowing curves, creases and sculpted vehicle body lines to remain clearly defined.
Tempest Blue can support a complete vehicle colour transformation or coordinated applications across hoods, roofs, trunks, mirrors, pillars and trim. Because K75513 is a metallic-effect film, adjoining panels must follow a consistent application direction from the roll.
Matte Tempest Blue pairs naturally with gloss black, matt black, satin black, exposed carbon fibre, charcoal, gunmetal, silver, chrome and brushed metal. White, orange, gold, bronze, red, purple or lime-green details can create a stronger custom contrast.
K75513 combines a 100 µm premium double-cast PVC face film with KPMF Airelease technology and an acrylic adhesive system developed for professional application on properly prepared vehicle surfaces.
A saturated cool-blue foundation creates an energetic alternative to darker navy, muted blue-grey and conventional factory blue finishes.
KPMF lists a gloss reading below 25 GU at 60 degrees, reducing sharp reflections while preserving vehicle body-line definition.
Consistent roll orientation is required across adjoining panels to reduce visible differences in blue tone, brightness and metallic movement.
The approximately 3.9 mil film is developed for conformability, dimensional stability and professional vehicle-wrap applications.
KPMF’s structured release liner supports air flow during application and helps reduce trapped bubbles when the film is installed correctly.
The 1524 mm width allows many hoods, roofs, trunks and side panels to be completed in one piece, helping reduce unnecessary seams.
This is directional matt metallic colour-change vinyl, not paint protection film.
Mark the roll direction before cutting and keep every adjoining panel oriented consistently. Avoid combining different production batches on the same vehicle. Rotating metallic panels or mixing batches can create visible differences in blue tone, brightness, metallic movement and finished appearance.

*KPMF identifies K75513 as Matt Tempest Blue Cast VWS IV, a 100 µm double-cast blue matt-metallic vehicle-wrap film with KPMF Airelease technology. The product-specific page displays permanent adhesive, while the applicable Issue 14 Metallic Matt technical data sheet specifies a 25 g/m² clear semi-permanent solvent-based acrylic adhesive. Current product-specific documentation and the physical roll label govern the supplied material. Issue 14 lists a gloss level below 25 GU at 60 degrees, a minimum application temperature of +18°C / 64.4°F and a service range of -40°C to +90°C / -40°F to 194°F. Published outdoor durability is up to seven years vertically and three years horizontally in Climate Zone 1, five years vertically and two years horizontally in Climate Zone 2, three years vertically and one year horizontally in Climate Zone 3, and greater than two years for Florida and Arizona horizontal exposure. The old description’s claims of up to eight years of durability and up to five years of removability are not supported by the current data sheet. Controlled clean removability is described for up to three years, subject to substrate, exposure, paint condition and stated warranty exceptions. Published values are typical and are not guaranteed for every installation. The film is directional and should be installed using consistent roll orientation and material from the same production batch across adjoining panels. Marine applications are limited to suitable areas above the waterline, and KPMF provides no warranty below the waterline. Professional installation and physical sample evaluation are strongly recommended. KPMF, VWS IV and Airelease are trademarks or product identifiers of Kay Premium Marking Films Ltd.
Current KPMF documentation and the physical roll label govern.
A successful wrap begins long before the film touches the surface. Follow this practical guide to prepare, position, apply, trim and finish your vinyl with greater control and a cleaner, more professional result.
Vinyl wrap is designed to conform to smooth surfaces, but the film can only perform as well as the surface underneath it. Dirt, wax, oil, loose paint, rough repairs and hidden moisture may affect adhesion or become visible through the installed material.
Before beginning, inspect the panel, plan your material direction and decide where seams, relief cuts and finishing edges will be located. Measure twice, cut with enough working allowance and avoid pulling the film tighter than needed.
Working gradually gives you more control. It helps reduce trapped air, unnecessary stretching, distorted finishes and weak edges caused by rushing.
Review the complete process before starting. Each step supports the next, so skipping preparation or finishing work may affect the final appearance and long-term adhesion.
Wash, degrease, dry and inspect the panel so the adhesive can contact a smooth, stable and contaminant-free surface.
Measure the coverage area carefully and cut the film slightly oversized to leave enough material for positioning and edge finishing.
Anchor the film, expose the adhesive gradually and use overlapping squeegee strokes while working in manageable sections.
Use controlled heat to soften the vinyl for curves and irregular shapes, stretching only as much as the area requires.
Trim carefully, avoid cutting into the substrate and finish edges with firm pressure before tucking them into suitable seams.
Heat-set stretched areas, recesses, curves and edges according to the exact instructions for the film being installed.
Check every edge, seam and contour. Correct remaining bubbles carefully, then avoid washing or harsh exposure for approximately 24–48 hours while the adhesive develops its bond.
These expandable instructions keep the page easy to navigate while giving you the important details needed at every stage of the installation.
Adhesion begins with the condition of the panel. Do not apply film over wax, grease, dust, loose paint, rust, moisture or unstable repairs.
Post-heating helps stabilize areas that were stretched or formed under tension. The required temperature differs by product, finish, manufacturer and application.
Clean, suitable tools improve control and help protect the film. Organize everything before starting so the installation does not need to stop midway.
A heat gun provides more controlled heat. Excessive temperature may damage vinyl, distort the finish, affect adhesive performance or harm the substrate.
Knifeless tape is positioned underneath the vinyl before application. A thin internal filament is then pulled through the film, creating a guided cut without placing a knife blade directly against the painted surface.
Commonly used for curved cuts, flowing shapes, striping and intricate design work.
Commonly used for straight or gently curved cuts and clean finishing near panel edges.
Designed to span gaps or seams while supporting a controlled cut through the applied vinyl.

This guide provides general educational information and does not replace the current technical bulletin, installation instructions, warranty terms or safety guidance issued by the film, tape, tool or chemical manufacturer. Product behavior, compatible surfaces, application temperature, post-heat temperature and finishing requirements vary. Test unfamiliar products and substrates before installation. Professional installation is recommended for full vehicles, complex curves and high-value surfaces. Knifeless is a trademark of 3M.
