Avery Dennison NR Pro Automotive Window Tint Film is a premium non-reflective automotive film designed to provide a cooler and more comfortable ride. Its ceramic nanotechnology uses a fusion of nano particles to support high solar performance, durability and long-lasting colour.

The NR Pro Series offers a broad range of visible light transmission levels, allowing installers and vehicle owners to balance appearance, privacy, daylight and solar performance. Premium heat rejection and up to 94% glare reduction help reduce the intensity of direct sunlight through automotive glass.

More than 99% ultraviolet blocking supports driver and passenger comfort while helping reduce UV exposure to interior materials. The metal-free construction is designed to avoid interference with common mobile, radio, GPS and vehicle electronic signals.

Tint personality

Refined, modern and performance-focused, with a graphite tone that adds visual depth while maintaining a minimal reflective effect.

Lighter NR Pro shades prioritize visibility and subtle solar performance, while darker shades create greater visual privacy for passengers and vehicle contents. Final appearance depends on the selected shade and existing automotive glass.

Shade selection and legal considerations
  • Review the selected visible light transmission. Each NR Pro shade allows a different percentage of visible light to pass through the film.
  • Account for the existing automotive glass. Final installed VLT is the combined result of the film and the vehicle's original glass.
  • Factory privacy glass changes the result. Existing privacy glass can make the completed installation appear darker than the film shade alone.
  • Confirm local automotive tint laws. Legal requirements can differ by jurisdiction, vehicle type and window position.
  • Front side windows may have stricter limits. Many jurisdictions regulate front side glass differently from rear side and rear windows.
  • Windshield applications may be restricted. Some jurisdictions allow only a limited visor strip or prohibit aftermarket windshield tint.
  • Balance privacy and visibility. Darker shades provide greater visual privacy but also transmit less visible light.
  • Consider nighttime driving conditions. Lower VLT shades may reduce visibility in dark environments.
  • Do not select shade by screen appearance alone. Product photography and displays cannot accurately reproduce the installed tint darkness.
  • Review shade-specific solar performance. Heat rejection, glare reduction, VLT and reflectance vary across the NR Pro range.
  • Compare physical samples on automotive glass. View the film from inside and outside under sunlight, shade and indoor lighting.
Professional installation and care guidance
  • Install on properly prepared automotive glass. Glass must be thoroughly cleaned and free from dust, oils, adhesives and contamination.
  • Use professional wet-application methods. Correct solution, handling and squeegee pressure help reduce contamination, fingers, creases and trapped moisture.
  • Heat shrink carefully. Controlled shrinking is required to form the film to curved rear and side automotive glass.
  • Protect the film from hard creases. Permanent folds or creases can damage the film and remain visible after installation.
  • Handle dot matrix areas carefully. Correct cleaning, fitting and finishing help improve the appearance around raised ceramic dot patterns.
  • Allow installation moisture to dry. Temporary haze, water pockets or optical distortion may be visible during the curing period.
  • Do not operate movable windows prematurely. Follow the installer's curing instructions before lowering side windows.
  • Use ammonia-free cleaning products. Clean the interior film surface with tint-safe solutions and soft microfiber towels.
  • Avoid abrasive tools and cleaners. Do not use razor blades, scrapers, rough brushes or abrasive chemicals on installed film.
  • Protect exposed film edges. Avoid picking, scraping or applying concentrated pressure near edges and seals.
  • Report installation concerns promptly. Edge lifting, contamination or unusual optical issues should be reviewed by the installer before they worsen.
Performance, warranty and product notes
  • Lifetime limited non-transferable warranty: Coverage is subject to current Avery Dennison terms, eligible applications and required documentation.
  • NR Pro uses ceramic nanotechnology and UV-stable dye according to the supplied product information.
  • The film blocks more than 99% of harmful ultraviolet radiation.
  • Glare reduction can reach up to 94%, depending on the selected shade and glass combination.
  • Heat rejection, visible light transmission and reflectivity vary by the selected NR Pro shade.
  • Darker shades provide increased visual privacy for passengers and vehicle contents but do not prevent all visibility.
  • Metal-free construction is designed to avoid interference with common mobile, GPS, radio and vehicle electronic signals.
  • Ceramic automotive film helps reduce solar exposure but does not eliminate all heat, glare, UV transmission or interior fading.
  • Performance depends on film shade, glass type, vehicle design, installation quality, climate and exposure.
  • Installation that does not comply with local tint laws may result in inspection failure, penalties or required removal.
  • Always review current Avery Dennison documentation and applicable tint regulations before installation.

Application Guide

Automotive Window Tint Installation Guide

1. Prepare the Windows

  • Clean the Windows: Start by thoroughly cleaning the windows with an ammonia-free glass cleaner. Avoid products with ammonia, as they can interfere with tint adhesion.
  • Use a Razor Blade: Scrape the glass with a razor blade to remove any dirt, dust, or adhesive residue, especially along the edges.
  • Wipe with a Lint-Free Cloth: After cleaning, use a lint-free cloth to dry the surface completely and remove any remaining particles.

2. Measure and Cut the Tint Film

  • Measure the Windows: Measure each window and cut the tint film slightly larger than the window dimensions. This will allow you to trim the film precisely once it’s applied.
  • Pre-Cut or Use Templates: Some tint films come pre-cut, or you can use templates for a more straightforward application, especially for rear windows or irregular shapes.

3. Prepare an Installation Solution

  • Mix a Slip Solution: Use a spray bottle to mix water with a few drops of baby shampoo or dish soap. This solution helps the tint slide and adhere smoothly without sticking immediately.
  • Label Your Bottles: Clearly label the bottle to avoid confusion and ensure a consistent application.

4. Apply the Tint to the Window

  • Spray the Window with Slip Solution: Spray a generous amount of slip solution on the inside surface of the window. This layer will allow you to position the film accurately.
  • Peel and Position the Tint: Carefully peel the backing from the tint film and spray the adhesive side with the solution to prevent it from sticking prematurely. Position the film on the wet window surface.
  • Align and Adjust: Adjust the film until it’s in the right position, using the excess around the edges as a guide.

5. Smooth and Secure the Film

  • Use a Squeegee: Starting from the center, use a squeegee to push out the slip solution and air bubbles, working toward the edges. This ensures the film bonds properly and reduces streaking.
  • Work in Small Sections: Divide the window into sections for better control, using even pressure to secure the film smoothly.

6. Trim Excess Tint

  • Careful Trimming: Use a sharp utility knife to trim any excess film around the edges of the window. Apply light pressure to avoid damaging the glass.
  • Seal the Edges: Press down along the edges to ensure a good seal, which prevents peeling and water intrusion.

7. Final Inspection and Drying Time

  • Check for Bubbles: If you notice small bubbles or creases, use a heat gun on low to medium heat to smooth them out carefully. Avoid overheating.
  • Allow Time to Cure: Avoid rolling down or cleaning the tinted windows for at least 24-48 hours to let the adhesive bond fully.

Handy Tools and Supplies for Window Tint Application

1. Essential Tools

  • Squeegee with Soft Edge: A soft-edge squeegee ensures smooth application without scratching the tint film.
  • Utility Knife: Use a sharp utility knife for precise trimming. Replace the blade as needed for clean cuts.
  • Spray Bottle: For the slip solution, a quality spray bottle is essential. Make sure the spray is even to prevent oversaturation.

2. Cleaning and Preparation Supplies

  • Ammonia-Free Glass Cleaner: Essential for a clean surface without leaving residues that can interfere with the tint adhesive.
  • Lint-Free Cloths or Microfiber Towels: Ideal for drying the windows and wiping down any excess solution without leaving fibers behind.
  • Razor Blade or Scraper: A razor blade removes any embedded dirt, stickers, or adhesive residue, which is crucial for a flawless finish.

3. Tools for Removing Air Bubbles and Wrinkles

  • Heat Gun: A heat gun can help stretch and set the tint film, especially on curved windows, and remove any stubborn bubbles.
  • Air Release Tool: Use a small pin tool to gently pop any tiny air bubbles trapped under the film without leaving noticeable marks.

4. Application Helpers for Curved Windows

  • Heat Forming Tools: For heavily curved rear windows, tools like a heat gun and shrink wrap can help you shape the film to fit perfectly.
  • Wrap Glove or Tint Glove: This glove protects the film from fingerprints or smudges as you press and smooth it into position.

5. Post-Installation Tools

  • Edge Seal Tape (Optional): Useful for edges or areas that may be exposed to moisture, ensuring the tint stays in place.
  • Tint-Safe Detailer or Cleaner: Use a window tint-safe cleaner to keep your tint looking fresh and clean without damaging the film.
