Create a bright, attention-forward colour-change finish with Avery Dennison® SW900 Gloss Ambulance Yellow SW900-236-O . Its vivid yellow colour and high-gloss factory-finished surface deliver a clean, energetic appearance for personal vehicles, approved fleet applications and distinctive accent projects.
Digital images cannot reproduce the physical colour precisely. Apparent yellow tone, brightness and gloss will vary with lighting, viewing angle, surrounding colours and screen settings. The name Ambulance Yellow does not establish regulatory, safety, visibility or emergency-fleet compliance.
Gloss Ambulance Yellow SW900-236-O presents a bright yellow colour through a smooth, high-gloss factory-finished surface. Direct sunlight and focused lighting intensify its brightness, while softer or shaded conditions can make the colour appear slightly warmer or more subdued.
The solid gloss finish follows body lines cleanly and creates clear reflections across broad panels. It can support complete colour-change wraps, commercial or service-fleet styling, and high-contrast accent areas when applied to compatible, properly prepared surfaces.
The product name describes the colour only. Suitability for emergency vehicles, regulated fleets, identification markings or visibility requirements must be evaluated against the applicable local standards, specifications and authority approvals.
Ambulance Yellow pairs naturally with gloss black, satin black, charcoal, white, silver and exposed carbon fibre. Dark-blue, red or reflective accents can create strong contrast, but fleet graphics, warning markings and regulated colour schemes must be independently approved for the intended use.
Gloss Ambulance Yellow combines a premium multi-layer cast-film construction and factory-finished gloss surface with Avery Dennison® Easy Apply™ RS technology for positioning, air management and professional installation on properly prepared surfaces.
A bright solid yellow colour creates an energetic, highly noticeable visual result without relying on metallic or pearlescent effects.
The factory-finished gloss surface produces clear reflections and helps the colour maintain a clean, paint-like presentation.
Easy Apply™ RS technology provides slideability and repositionability, helping the installer align the film before firm final pressure is applied.
The adhesive and liner system helps trapped air escape during installation, supporting controlled application across broad panels.
The five-foot width allows many hoods, roofs, trunks and side panels to be wrapped in one piece, helping reduce unnecessary seams.
The acrylic adhesive is designed for professional removal during the applicable durability period, subject to substrate, paint condition, installation, exposure and maintenance.
Avery’s current colour guide identifies Ambulance Yellow as SW900-236-O, while the product URL and current PDS retain a legacy SW900-234-O reference. The PDS also identifies Ambulance Yellow among colours that may be less than fully opaque, so substrate colour, contrasting paint lines and overlaps may influence the final appearance. Confirm the physical roll label and test a sample over the intended substrate. The colour name does not certify compliance with emergency-vehicle, visibility or safety regulations.

*Avery Dennison’s current May 2026 North American colour guide identifies Gloss Ambulance Yellow as SW900-236-O. A legacy SW900-234-O reference remains in the product URL and current PDS opacity notes. SW900 colour durability is listed at up to 10 years for qualifying Zone 1 vertical exposure and two years for horizontal or non-vertical exposure, with shorter periods in Zones 2 and 3. Actual durability and warranty eligibility depend on exposure zone, application angle, substrate, preparation, installation, environment and maintenance. This product is decorative colour-change vinyl and is not paint protection film. The Ambulance Yellow name does not certify compliance with emergency-vehicle, visibility, fleet-identification or safety requirements. Professional installation and physical sample evaluation are strongly recommended. Avery Dennison, Supreme Wrapping Film, Easy Apply and StaFlat are trademarks of Avery Dennison Corporation or its affiliates. Current manufacturer documentation and the physical roll label govern.
A successful wrap begins long before the film touches the surface. Follow this practical guide to prepare, position, apply, trim and finish your vinyl with greater control and a cleaner, more professional result.
Vinyl wrap is designed to conform to smooth surfaces, but the film can only perform as well as the surface underneath it. Dirt, wax, oil, loose paint, rough repairs and hidden moisture may affect adhesion or become visible through the installed material.
Before beginning, inspect the panel, plan your material direction and decide where seams, relief cuts and finishing edges will be located. Measure twice, cut with enough working allowance and avoid pulling the film tighter than needed.
Working gradually gives you more control. It helps reduce trapped air, unnecessary stretching, distorted finishes and weak edges caused by rushing.
Review the complete process before starting. Each step supports the next, so skipping preparation or finishing work may affect the final appearance and long-term adhesion.
Wash, degrease, dry and inspect the panel so the adhesive can contact a smooth, stable and contaminant-free surface.
Measure the coverage area carefully and cut the film slightly oversized to leave enough material for positioning and edge finishing.
Anchor the film, expose the adhesive gradually and use overlapping squeegee strokes while working in manageable sections.
Use controlled heat to soften the vinyl for curves and irregular shapes, stretching only as much as the area requires.
Trim carefully, avoid cutting into the substrate and finish edges with firm pressure before tucking them into suitable seams.
Heat-set stretched areas, recesses, curves and edges according to the exact instructions for the film being installed.
Check every edge, seam and contour. Correct remaining bubbles carefully, then avoid washing or harsh exposure for approximately 24–48 hours while the adhesive develops its bond.
These expandable instructions keep the page easy to navigate while giving you the important details needed at every stage of the installation.
Adhesion begins with the condition of the panel. Do not apply film over wax, grease, dust, loose paint, rust, moisture or unstable repairs.
Post-heating helps stabilize areas that were stretched or formed under tension. The required temperature differs by product, finish, manufacturer and application.
Clean, suitable tools improve control and help protect the film. Organize everything before starting so the installation does not need to stop midway.
A heat gun provides more controlled heat. Excessive temperature may damage vinyl, distort the finish, affect adhesive performance or harm the substrate.
Knifeless tape is positioned underneath the vinyl before application. A thin internal filament is then pulled through the film, creating a guided cut without placing a knife blade directly against the painted surface.
Commonly used for curved cuts, flowing shapes, striping and intricate design work.
Commonly used for straight or gently curved cuts and clean finishing near panel edges.
Designed to span gaps or seams while supporting a controlled cut through the applied vinyl.

This guide provides general educational information and does not replace the current technical bulletin, installation instructions, warranty terms or safety guidance issued by the film, tape, tool or chemical manufacturer. Product behavior, compatible surfaces, application temperature, post-heat temperature and finishing requirements vary. Test unfamiliar products and substrates before installation. Professional installation is recommended for full vehicles, complex curves and high-value surfaces. Knifeless is a trademark of 3M.
